Returns & Refund Policy
At Tiny Stories, every product is personalised and made to order using your unique characters and stories. Because of the custom nature of our products, we cannot accept returns for resale. However, your satisfaction matters to us and we stand behind the quality of everything we make.
1. Overview
This policy applies to all products purchased through tinystories.ai, including personalised storybooks, mugs, posters and fridge magnets. All products are made to order by our specialist production partners and shipped directly to you.
Because every item is custom-printed with your child's unique AI-generated character, we are unable to accept standard returns. This policy outlines when and how we can offer refunds or reprints.
2. Quality guarantee
We are committed to delivering high-quality personalised products. Every item is produced by professional print partners using premium materials:
- Storybooks — 24-page hardcover, 170gsm silk paper, gloss laminate cover
- Mugs — 11oz ceramic, dishwasher-safe, full-wrap print
- Posters — A3 enhanced matte art paper, 200gsm, giclee fine art print
- Fridge magnets — 4×4 inch, vibrant full-colour print on durable magnetic material
If the quality of your product does not meet these standards, we will make it right.
3. Damaged or defective items
If your item arrives damaged, misprinted or with a manufacturing defect, we will offer either a full refund or a free reprint at no extra cost to you. This includes:
- Physical damage during transit (torn pages, cracked mug, etc.)
- Print quality issues (blurred images, colour errors, misalignment)
- Wrong item received
- Missing items from your order
To claim, please contact us within 14 days of receiving your order with a photo of the issue. We do not require you to return the damaged item.
4. Not as expected
Our products feature AI-generated artwork based on your child's photo. While we strive for the closest possible likeness, AI-generated illustrations are artistic interpretations and may differ slightly from the preview shown during creation.
If you feel your product looks significantly different from what was shown in the preview, please contact us with photos. We review these on a case-by-case basis and may offer:
- A partial refund (up to 50% of the item price)
- A reprint with adjusted artwork where possible
- Store credit for a future order
5. Change of mind
As all products are custom-made and cannot be resold, we are unable to offer refunds for change of mind. This is in line with the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 exemption for bespoke or personalised goods.
We encourage you to review your story, character and product previews carefully before completing your purchase.
6. Split shipping
Orders containing multiple product types (e.g. a book and a mug) may arrive in separate packages, as different items are produced by specialist partners. Each package will have its own tracking information.
If one item from a multi-item order arrives damaged or is missing, please wait until all packages have been delivered before contacting us — unless the estimated delivery window has passed. Delivery is typically within 3–10 working days for UK orders.
7. How to request a refund
To request a refund or report an issue, please email us at hello@tinystories.ai with the following information:
- Your order number
- The item(s) affected
- A clear photo showing the issue (for damaged/defective claims)
- A brief description of the problem
We aim to respond to all refund requests within 2 working days.
8. Refund processing
Approved refunds are processed to your original payment method (credit/debit card, Apple Pay, Google Pay or PayPal). Please allow:
- 3–5 working days for the refund to appear on your statement after approval
- Up to 10 working days for PayPal refunds, depending on your provider
Shipping costs are included in the refund for damaged or defective items. For partial refunds (not-as-expected claims), the refund applies to the item price only.
9. Cancellations
Because production begins shortly after your order is placed, we can only cancel orders that have not yet entered production. If you need to cancel, contact us as soon as possible at hello@tinystories.ai.
If your order has already entered production, it cannot be cancelled — but you can still request a refund under the damaged/defective or not-as-expected policies above if there is an issue with the finished product.
